I’ve put together this lovely little collection of five Aurifil threads especially to use with my indigo fabrics — although, of course, they’ll be beautiful in all sorts of slow stitching projects.
Inside the pack you’ll find:
Three reels of Aurifil 12 weight thread
Colours 1128, 2720 and 2783 — 50m each
Two reels of Aurifil stranded cotton
Colours 3770 and 4669 — 18m each
The stranded cottons are beautifully variegated, adding those subtle little changes of colour that make hand stitching so interesting. You can use the stranded thread just as it is, or separate the strands depending on how fine or bold you’d like your stitches to be.
I love using both the 12 weight and the stranded cotton. I use them for hand quilting, slow stitching and some of the embroidery I’m learning to do — they’re wonderful threads for experimenting and simply seeing where your stitches take you.
The colours look particularly lovely against indigo, but they’ll work happily with all sorts of fabrics and projects.
